Whenever I feel a bit flat creatively and in need of some inspiration, I find myself in the bookshop. There is something soothing about a bookshop, its tranquil and filled to the brim with talent and creation. I like going up and down the aisle to see what’s new. I often feel the books pick me rather than me choosing them. Always lighting that fire within me. Here are my recent picks.
ONE | Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Dubbed the thriller of the year, Gone Girl has recently hit our cinemas and in the mad attempt to read the book before I see the movie (next Monday), I ran out to get me a copy. So far, it is living up to the hype, a page turner from the get go, gripping, mysterious and enticing…looking forward to where this one will take me.
TWO | How To Be Parisian Wherever You Are by Anne Berest, Audrey Diwan, Caroline de Maigret and Sophie
The title of this book truly says it all. What girl doesn’t want to be a bit more French? With their effortless style, wit and sophistication. This book is a quirky, honest and amusing take on Parisian style, culture, humour and attitude. Seriously addictive. Best read with a glass of wine in hand.
THREE | #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso
Anyone that wants to be a #Girlboss needs to read this book. Through her own journey, Sophia candidly shares everything you need to know (and everything you didn’t think you needed to know) about business and success. Unconventional and raw, this book is an insightful look at running a business in the 21st Century.
FOUR | Daring and Disruptive by Lisa Messenger
