When was the last time you did an alcohol audit? Drinking socially and more frequently has become the norm but what are the real effects of alcohol on your body. Drinking too much alcohol at the minimum leaves your skin dehydrated, red and bloated. It forces your kidneys to work extra hard resulting in the rest of your organs missing out on vital nutrients, fluids and electrolytes. On top of that dehydrated skin is more likely to wrinkle making you look older than you actually are. Eek. If that wasn’t enough, alcohol also makes it harder for your body to burn fat. Eek eek. The beauty impacts are only the tip of the iceberg, excessive alcohol consumption (and/or binging) can have serious health implications, as well as mental and emotional ones. Commit to drinking responsibility and having more alcohol free days today.
